From April 20 to 22, the Strehler Theater hosted a performance celebrating the forty-year
career of Alessandra Ferri, the Italian prima ballerina. This stunning performance left a warm
residue and fond memories inside. Furthermore, an integral part of the performance was the
theater itself.
The Piccolo Teatro Strelher, from the first moment, looks already familiar building. The
theater looks like a building from a Hollywood movie, just as bright yet understated and
sophisticated. Inside, the theater seems very spacious and luxurious, thanks to the light tones in
the interior. Once inside, the viewer feels like part of the performance as if they were the main
character. The surroundings look elegant, which adds extra aesthetics to the look of the theater.
One might even say that the audience complements the theater, adding an extraordinary aesthetic
to it.
Inside the auditorium is made in the technique of retractable scenes. As a result, there is
more privacy for the spectator and the artist, allowing both the spectator and the artist to feel
each other. Even though the balcony and back rows of the first floor are far from the stage, the
back rows and balcony were slightly elevated thanks to the slope. Even due to the receding effect
on the scene, all attention automatically moves to the location.

An integral part of the performance is the light and music. Thanks to the well-chosen
light, the artists were as if they were part of the light that softly emphasized their figures. The
light was the main pointer to the crucial moments throughout the performance, not to miss the

dancer. If the ballerina was depressed, the light would change to more fabulous shades. On the
other hand, if there was a happy moment in the ballerina’s life, the light was as bright and vivid
as the sun.

seemed that the music was not coming from the speakers but from the head.
Of course, the performers deserve special attention. Alessandra Ferri looked simply
superb in a long, delicate pink skirt. Due to the fact that the dress was translucent and the layers
of fabric were superimposed on each other, with any ligatures and elements, the material
developed and added even more admiration. It was also immediately possible to notice the
dancers’ professionalism because their movements were imbued with love and passion.

In the original play, Oh, Les beaux jours (Happy Days), the main character was in a
mountain of mounds, but now the heroine was in a mountain of full ballet shoes. This set looked
so incredible. Even at first, it was evident that it was a backdrop, but later it gave a special
meaning to the play.

If the viewer is not familiar with the play’s backstory beforehand, this does not become a
problem. Perhaps even without knowing the original Samuel Beckett play, it will be much more
interesting to watch because you do not know what will happen next. You will be in intrigue and
anticipation until the very last moment. Of course, this performance was worth visiting for lovers
of a good atmosphere, where you could completely immerse yourself in the story for 70 minutes
and forget about everything else. Fans of aesthetics would have loved the theater itself and the
scenery, lights, and costumes in the performance.
